think question understand
Was the Treaty of Versailles fair?
In today’s lesson we want to:
- review the terms of the Treaty of Versailles
- sort arguments about whether the Treaty was fair
- begin to form our own views about whether the Treaty was fair
Using your GARGLE powerpoint from two weeks ago, try to complete this document. Once you’ve done that save it to your History folder.
Then try to sort out the arguments on this arguments powerpoint. Be careful, you need to sort them based on what they say, not whether you agree with it or whether you think it is fair. Again. Make sure you save it to your documents once you’re finished.
EXTENSION: Use page 68 and 69. Try to add extra points to the arguments powerpoint. This task will improve your ability to pick out examples from more sophisticated text, which will be an important skill in your controlled assessment.
If you have headphones you could listen to two of my former students explain whether it was fair:
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
And you could watch this BBC revision video:
Finally, you could add a second page to the arguments powerpoint, bullet pointing your views on whether the Treaty was fair.
